Marble in the forefront the USA with TISE West


The US stop-off of the Marmomacc Tour – scheduled in Las Vegas 20-22 January 2016 – is already sold out. Twenty exhibitors in the Veronafiere International Pavilion from Italy, France, India and Turkey. Marmomacc training courses for architects and designers continue to be consolidated

Huge success for the group show by international companies coordinated by Veronafiere at TISE West 2016, scheduled in Las Vegas next 20-22 January.

This has been achieved not the least thanks to the extraordinary recovery on the US market and new impetus in the construction sector this year, so that with five months still to go to the event, the Veronafiere International Pavilion is already sold out: the total exhibition area of 900 square meters will welcome 20 exhibitors from Italy, France, India and Turkey involving for the first time the IMIB, Turkey’s most important natural stone export association.

This confirms a successful partnership between Informa Exhibitions – taking over from Hanley Wood – and Veronafiere, having  been involved since 2008 in the StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas project, the most important North American exhibition dedicated to the natural stone sector which, in conjunction with Surfaces and TileExpo gave birth in 2014 to TISE – The International Surface Event, that has already become the landmark event for professionals in the US marble and natural stone, flooring and surfaces and tiles market.

Official surveys into the performance of the national stone industry by Centro Studi Confindustria Marmomacchine based on Istat data indicate that in the first 5 months of 2015 Italian marble, granite and natural stone exports – processed and unhewn products – achieved an increase of 4.3% with export turnover of 782.8 million euros. Standard and special processed products were the driving forces behind growth, with sales worth 624.3 million euros (+5.6%). The United States confirmed its status as the leading outlet market for Italian processed goods (174.5 million euros), followed by Germany (58.5 millions), Switzerland (37.9 millions), Saudi Arabia (30.9 millions) and the United Arab Emirates (27.7 millions).

The natural stone processing machinery and equipment sector also performed well and is the area where Italy enjoys undisputed world leadership with a market share of 60% of total exports: in the period January-May 2015, Italian manufacturers exported technology worth 497.5 million euros in total, with a two-figure increase (+22.2%) compared to the same period in 2014. Even in this case, the United States leads the destination ranking, with orders worth 46.8 million euros, followed by Brazil (36.4 millions) and Turkey (29.1 millions).

TISE West will therefore ensure marvellous business opportunities for international companies. And business will come about not only by taking part in the exhibition. Training initiatives for designers – target visitors increasingly requested by businesses – are an integral part of StonExpo/Marmomacc Americas. Wednesday 20 January will welcome “Architect Day”, the course for architects and interior designers organised by Marmomacc where lectures will be followed by a guided walkabout visit to the exhibition to discover the most interesting international materials and the latest marble processing technologies.

Training activities have been Veronafiere’s flagship for over 17 years, with the organisation of seminars and workshops focusing on the use of natural stone in collaboration with professional institutions on an international scale: AIA-American Institute of Architects, RIBA-Royal Institute of Architects, RAIC-Royal Canadian Institute of Architects, AIA-Australian Institute of Architects, SAIA-South African Institute of Architects.

Thursday 21 January will then be the turn of “Veronafiere Pavilion meets Distributors”, the event providing exhibitors in the group show an opportunity for B2B meetings with American distributors.
